Some kids and others at the hospital will be getting a visit from Santa and his elves this week thanks to a group of students at St Joseph-Scollard Hall.

Rhianna Bovair says it’s all about spreading some Christmas cheer in a couple areas of the hospital and bringing some toys to children there.

She says about a dozen grade 11/12 students took part in the initiative this year and raised over $377.

We purchased some toys and we also purchased some treats for the nurses and doctors, as well,” she said.

To raise the money the students held a bake sale and went around the school collecting donations too.

Bovair says the toys will be delivered to the children in the pediatric ward on Friday morning.

“There will also be some of Santa elves going to the palliative area, visiting some of the patients there,” she added “we’re generally spreading Christmas cheer all throughout a couple of areas of the hospital.”
