The North Bay Battalion and their fans have plenty to smile about these days.

They have only lost 1 game in regulation in their last nine and are 6-1-2 in that stretch.  That includes a win at home over Erie, the number 2 team in the country.

Coach Stan Butler was asked if his team has turned the corner.

He says he’s pleased with the two weekend wins, but things don’t get any easier this weekend with a home game against Kingston tonight (Thursday) and a road game in London tomorrow.

The Troops then return home to face divisional rival Barrie on Sunday.

Butler says last weekend was great, but the focus is on this weekend and he hopes they can build on last weekend’s success.

The Battalion have had plenty of plenty of exciting wins this season and if that’s going to happen tonight there’s a good chance Steve Harland is going to be involved.

He’s second in points on the team with 22, second in assists with 11, second in goals with 11 and leads the club in game winning goals, with 3.

Butler says he expected Harland could be a point-a-game player, but he has to improve in other areas of the game too, to become a complete player.

The Battalion sport a record of 11-7-2 overall and are 2nd in the East.

They lead Sudbury by 5 points in the Central Division.

Broadcast time tonight on Country 600 CKAT is 6:55.
