The newly formed Nipissing Kiwanis Circle K Club is all about leadership development and community service involving local post-secondary students.

One way they’re doing just that is by hosting a Warm Up to Winter Concert at the Nipissing University Theatre on Thursday night, in partnership with NUSU Cares and the NUSU-CSC Best Buddies Chapter.

There will be musical performances, including the Nipissing University Eddie Band, involving body percussion, bucket drumming, concert band and more.

Kiwanis Club of Nipissing President Ralph Celentano says admission is a donation of winter clothing or a non-perishable food item.

The doors open to Thursday’s event at 7 pm, with the concert starting at 7:30 pm.

There are Circle K Clubs at universities and colleges across North America.

Officials say Circle K is one of the Kiwanis family of club organizations known as a Service Leadership Program.
