TransCanada’s safety video involving Grant Love, the city’s former fire chief has been removed from their website, as per a request from the mayor.

Officials say it was never their intention to surprise or offend anyone with the video, pointing out they always strive toward positive relationships with municipalities including the mayor and council in North Bay.

They also say Love was not paid or compensated for the video.

In an email statement, TransCanada says they’ve been operating in the city for over 65 years.

They say the video was posted to share the perspective of an emergency responder who has a long-term relationship with the company regarding their commitment to safety.
