The Labour Market Group is looking to employers around the region to take part in their EmployerOne Survey.

Executive Director Stacie Fiddler says the online tool allows employers to express their workforce concerns and hiring challenges.

She says it’s a quick survey with less than 20 questions, “Are they having trouble recruiting, if so for what positions, how do they feel about the local labour market, is it easy to obtained employees, where are they looking for employees, just a whole gamut of their workforce development experience.”

Fiddler says the information they get will help shine a light on what skills local industries really need and what concerns they have about their current and future workforce.

She says about 200 employers took part last year and they’re hoping to have 250 take the survey this year.

“All of their information, everything we receive from them formulate our workforce development plans. How can we take what we;ve heard from local employers and develop localized strategies to meet their needs,” she added.

Once again the survey is not only taking place in Nipissing and Parry Sound, it’s happening right across the north.

A report is expected by late March 2017.
