The Education Quality and Accountability Office has cancelled today’s online Ontario secondary school literacy test.

In a series of Tweets they acknowledged they were experiencing widespread technical issues with the online network.

Officials with the Nipissing Parry Sound Catholic District School Baord say the test was cancelled because of a very large volume of technical issues across the province, including at their board.

A board statement says “Although no problems were experienced with regards to our NPSC server capacity or bandwidth, EQAO acknowledged province-wide technical difficulties stemming from their system, resulting in this cancellation.”

Upwards of 190,000 students from 900 schools were to attempt the voluntary test in two sessions today.
