It was Vic Fedeli‘s day to say thank you yesterday (Wednesday) at the North Bay Police Services Board meeting.

Nipissing’s MPP authored a private members bill that was adopted last year on the Patch4Patch program.

The program was brought in by officials in North Bay after 15 Fentanyl deaths in 5 years.

One of the leading officers, Det. Cst. Tom Robertson of the city police Street Crime Unit says everyone got on board right away, including pharmacists and doctors and if it was working here why not in the rest of the province.

He says many other communities signed on to it, but the bill which was presented to the local officials yesterday by Fedeli, made it happen all over Ontario.

Pat Cliche was part of the North Bay anti drug strategy when the program was started in North Bay.

She says this was a no brainer for MPP’s of all parties to support.

The program requires that people with a prescription for Fentanyl return their used patches to get more.
