A police officer who has dedicated his service to Northern Ontario has been promoted to Traffic and Marine Unit Commander for Northeast Region OPP.

Inspector Scott Hlady is a 19 year veteran of the Ontario Provincial Police.

He served as a general patrol officer in Sioux Lookout, then moved to forensic services in Thunder Bay and was most recently Staff Sergeant-Regional Manager of Forensic Identification Services for the northeast.

“I have dedicated my service to Northern Ontario and I am very honored to provide leadership in the Traffic and Marine Program.  I have extensive experience in specialized policing services and I am excited to work with our community and policing partners throughout the Region to ensure high level of traffic and marine safety” said Hlady, in a release.
