Home Depot is pledging 24 Thousand in funding and services, Giant Tiger 10 Thousand and Rebuilt Resources another 5 Thousand Dollars.

Board chair Jim Liddell says it’s an exciting day.

He says this is a milestone day and they’ll now be able to do what they want to do.

That means having a larger space and offering more programming too.

Liddell says they can now start renovating their Cassells Street location and bringing in programs like an evening meal program 3 nights a week.

He says the renovating project will take about a year.

Co -chair of the capital campaign Al McDonald says the fact that they’ve raised the needed funds in 8 months is proof the community is very supportive of the Gathering Place.

He says the committee, local businesses and the community all stepped up.
