More speeding tickets handed out by city police

The 100 and 200 blocks of Lakeshore Drive were the focus of the latest traffic enforcement blitz by city police.

Eight drivers got speeding tickets over a three hour span Tuesday morning.

Two of the vehicles were clocked going 74 km/h in a 50 zone.

While pointing out that Lakeshore Drive is a busy four-lane roadway with a lot of cyclists and pedestrians, police say some drivers are still not getting the message that they’re putting themselves and others at risk.

Police also say expect to see traffic enforcement initiatives continue on Lakeshore and other parts of the city too.
