theatre

The community has lost “a true pioneer in theatre”.

Those words this morning from Mayor Al McDonald after the passing of Marty Southcott.

The mayor remembers her at Widdifield back in 1976 organizing and getting students involved in drama and theatre, pointing out she was the founder of TOROS and loved helping kids reach their full potential on stage.

He says, “(she) was a real champion of drama, the arts and theatre and will be greatly missed by everyone.”

A message tweeted from TOROS says she had a profound impact on the local arts community and all those who were blessed enough to work with her.

At last check, arrangements for a Celebration of Life have not yet been finalized.
