It’s been a difficult week for 80 employees at Kent Trusses in Sundridge.

Mayor Lyle Hall says they were sent home last Thursday and since then no orders have been taken by the firm.

He says employees are either looking for work or waiting to be called back to work.

A meeting was held in North Bay on Wednesday and Hall says it was essentially a way to get a lay of the land and find what needs to be done to get the company operating again.

He says it’s extremely important the the solution they find pays off and the end result is people are back at work.

He says 80 people have been impacted and that’s huge in a village like Sundridge.

He says Kent Trusses is a huge employer for Sundridge and they want the company to remain part of the community fabric.

He wouldn’t detail who was at the meeting but he says the next step is to see what area municipalities and provincial government ministries can do.
