Summer In The Park was a success!

All of the various components of Summer In The Park benefited from the great weather over the weekend.

Chair John Strang says the festival was a success and the crowds were great for the concerts, “Looking out over the crowd on Friday night when Hedley took the stage, I’ve never seen that park as full as it was Friday night, it was unbelievable.”

He points out they had really good crowds on Saturday night and Sunday too.

Meantime, Strang says the downtown and merchants were happy along with the museum, the mini-train and carousel and the midway was busy from morning to night.

As for wristband sales, Strang says they don’t have specific numbers yet, “There’s no way we didn’t hit our target. We were 5,344 on the Monday leading up to it and we sold a ton of wristbands that last week and then again at the gate, so we definitely hit out target.”

The budget target was 6,000 wristband sales.
