The Club Lounge inside Memorial Gardens is being worked on this summer.

Community Services Committee chair Mark King says they are doing two jobs.

The first one is improving the look of the north end wall area.

He says it needs to look presentable, as that end of the arena will be used during major events like concerts.

The other part of the project is to make the lounge more amenable for meetings, seminars and meal functions.

King says the cost of the project will be around $140,000 and the work is expected to be finished by next hockey season.

The money to pay for this project comes out of the $1-Million they received from the Feds for Memorial Gardens upgrades.

On top of that, King says the city put in $500 thousand to have access to that money.

To date, about $1.1-Million has been spent.
