Most communities in the area have had their open air burning bans lifted to some degree.

On Thursday, they were partially lifted in Burks Falls, Callander, Kearney, Laurier Township and Nipissing Township.

Bans remain in effect in several communities including Magnetawan, McMurrich Monteith Township and Restoule.

The partial bans mean burning is allowed for cooking and warmth but no other burning or fireworks is allowed.

Meantime, a release states “if the attendance of fire apparatus and crews occur, person(s) responsible will be invoiced.”

The cost is $450 an hour, per vehicle.
