A request of city council when it comes to deciding whether or not North Bay should support a casino.

One city resident Janet Zimbalatti says no.

She says too much money would leave the community.

She says about 50 per cent of the revenue that is put in a casino leaves the community.

She was asked about the jobs that would be created through the construction of a casino and for people working there once it is open.

Zimbalatti says there would be about a 14 per cent economic impact but with more people spending money at casinos they’ll be spending less at other businesses and that would impact jobs at those other businesses.

She says the community is trying to pick itself up right now and this won’t be helped if millions are leaving the community every year for 2-4 decades.
