Checking out internet speeds in the north

There’s nothing more frustrating in today’s world than waiting for the internet to get you the information you need.

In fact, a group of Northern Ontario organizations have developed a web site in which you can check your internet speed.

Susan Church is the Executive Director of Blue Sky Net. which is one of the organizations involved.

She says the web site www.connectednorth.ca can tell you the speed from your location and not from the location of your internet service provider.

Church says speed is key these days when accessing information for a lot of reasons.

She says there’s also information on who provides internet service anywhere in Northern Ontario.

Church says the information they get is used in lobbying government and internet service providers for improved service.
