medical doctorA Doctor Shortage in Northern Ontario is something every municipality is trying to overcome. North Bay Mayor Al McDonald has taken a step to try and erase that shortage. At the Association of Municipalities of Ontario Conference on Monday,  McDonald says he met with the President of the Ontario Medical Association. The Mayor says Doctor Mike Toth has many ideas on how to bring in more physicians to the north, and he will be coming to meet with people in North Bay.

McDonald says they are still working on an official date, but is very excited about the prospect of having Doctor Toth come to the city. 

Meantime, McDonald said he had a number of other meetings before the day was over, including a meeting with the Minster of Natural Resources.

He says their plan was to talk about the challenges surrounding the fisheries in Lake Nipissing, as well as getting a new fire station for the MNR to battle forest fires at the Airport Industrial Park.
