Police (north bay)It was a busy weekend for North Bay Police with 250 calls for service. Police say nine people were arrested for various offenses including mischief and theft over 5 Thousand Dollars, domestic assault, mischief under 5 Thousand Dollars, breach of recognizance, breach of probation,  public intoxication, driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in blood, trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a controlled substance.

Of note: A 25 year old North Bay man has been charged following a weekend investigation.  City Police say they received a report of a domestic assault and the male has been charged with two counts of assault, one count of mischief under 5 Thousand Dollars and 2 breach counts. 

Police say on Friday an argument between a couple turned violent with the male physically assaulting the female. 

On Sunday, another arguement turned violent when the male threw an object at their shared vehicle and damaged it.

Police say the woman was then physically assaulted inside their residence.

The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

North Bay Police say two people have been charged following a recent drug transaction.  24 year old Amber Nancy Young  has been charged with one count of trafficking in Hydromorph Contin pills, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in Hydromorph Contin pills and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. A 34 year old city woman was also arrested and charged.  She faces a possession of a controlled substance count.

Police say they seized six Hydromorph Contin capsules with a street value of 180 Dollars, 75 Dollars in Canadian currency and a vehicle as offense related property.

A hydro line went down on the weekend. And the incident on College Drive  has led to charges.

29 year old Michael Marynowski of Arva, Ontario has been charged with one count of mischief over 5 Thousand Dollars and one count of Theft over 5 Thousand dollars. 

Police say someone entered an unlocked excavator, spun the cabin from side to side, extended the bucket arm and then hit a hydro pole causing it to break.

Police say the result was that electrical supplies were interrupted and there was a malfunction to the traffic light systems. 

Police, fire and North Bay Hydro all responded to the call.

The incident happened on Saturday night and the charges laid on Sunday morning.

And North Bay Police are investigating a break in to a Main Street West business.

Police say it happened Friday around 9:30 pm and someone broke into the building and took several jewelry items.
