Police (north bay)North Bay Police responded to 337 calls for service over the long weekend, with 8 people arrested.

Offences include assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, assault, criminal harassment, impaired driving, public intoxication and breach.

Meantime, one of the incidents saw police respond to a call around 4 am Sunday, of an aggressive man at the hospital. It’s alleged the man physically assaulted a police officer while he was being arrested.

The 31 year old man was charged with assault peace officer and three counts of breach. The officer suffered non-life threatening injuries.
A domestic dispute on Friday night has led to charges for a 23 year old city man.

It’s alleged the man’s common law spouse was physically assaulted as they walked home from an evening of drinking at a friend’s downtown residence.

She was then allegedly threatened if she told anyone.

A concerned citizen contacted police after the couple arrived at their residence.

The man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats and breach.

The woman suffered non-life threatening injuries.

 

And an investigation into a report of harassment has led to charges for a North Bay man.

It’s alleged around 8:30 Monday morning, while at a bus stop on Algonquin Avenue north of Jane Street, a man began to harass a female pedestrian who was unknown to him.

It’s further alleged he began to follow her despite her repeatedly asking him to leave her alone.

Police say a passing motorist stopped and offered to help the woman by driving her to her destination and calling police.

A short time later a 29 year old man was arrested and charged with criminal harassment and breach.
