Powassan voodoos head coach Scott Wray had his number 17 Rapid City Rush jersey retired on the weekend.

Wray had a 15-year playing with the South Dakota-based team.

He left the Rush as the ECHL team’s all-time leading scorer with 236 points. He was also responsible for the winning goal in the team’s first ever championship.

Now as a coach, Wray led the Voodoos to a 4th place finish in the NOJHL East Division and to a playoff run which included victories over the Mattawa Blackhawks and the defending NOJHL champion Kirkland Lake Gold Miners.

The jersey retirement ceremony took place prior to the Rush’s final regular season game Saturday night.
