There are several events lined up for this week to celebrate North Bay Pride.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) at 4 pm is the flag raising at City Hall with a Drag King or Queen runway event at 8 pm at the Grande Event Centre.

North Bay Pride Committee Spokesperson Jason Maclennan says there’s a speed dating event Thursday then youth community dance on Friday.

“Saturday we have the march at noon for acceptance and to drive home equality, followed by the picnic by the North Bay and District Labour Council. Then at 10 pm, to sign off Pride this year, we are having a dance on the Chief Commanda,” he says.

Maclennan says the events are all about celebrating Pride and inclusion.

“We think this is going to be a great week, we hope that everyone gets out, if you’re LGBT show your pride and if you’re an ally, show your pride and encouragement for others to come forward and be themselves,” he says.
