Damages are estimated at about $400,000 after the fire last Friday morning at the Kabuki House restaurant in North Bay.

That’s the word from city fire prevention which says the cause is not suspicious in any way.

They say the accidental fire started in the basement.

The investigation into the cause is ongoing.

Meantime, fire crews were called to the former Neste Resins/Arclin Property on Wallace Road around six o’clock Monday evening.

Officials say a massive tank (15 ft x 20 ft) caught fire during the cutting process associated with the demolition that’s happening on the property.

Crews were on scene for about two hours and extinguished the fire without incident.
