A big day at One Kids Place on Tuesday as the Insurance Brokers Association of North Bay donated $100,000 to the organization.

President Jamie Martyn says they have been a big supporter of One Kids Place since the beginning and this money will pay for equipment for kids.

“Those chairs and strollers are quite expensive and a lot of families can’t afford that type of equipment the children really need to get on with their daily lives.”
He says several local insurance companies are contributing funds and it’s not uncommon for this to happen when there’s a real important cause.

Executive Director Denis Filiatrault says not everything is funded by the government and that is where strong local corporate support comes in.

“Some of these services like the loan equipment program need corporate support. And that support enhances our ability to deliver services to families.”
