The North Bay Battalion play their final home game before Christmas against Hamilton tonight (Thursday).

It’s the second of four meetings between the teams this season.

The previous matchup, in North Bay, saw the Bulldogs score twice in the last two minutes to secure a 4-3 win.

North Bay has been playing well of late, earning at least a point in four of their last five games.

Coach Stan Butler says they have a top scoring line lately, led by OHL Player of the Week Justin Brazeau, but they need other lines to chip in.

“Between the McMaster line and the Potts line hopefully both of those lines can step up and give us a solid second line as well,” he says.

Butler says Brazeau who had 5 goals and 3 assists last week is a hard worker.

“He probably hasn’t had as much formal training as a lot of the other kids so there’s a lot of room for growth. He gets it. He works hard in the weight room, on the ice and he’s really worked on his game,” he says.

Brazeau has 23 goals, good for third in the league right now.

The Troops play their last two games before Christmas on the road with stops in St Catharines against Niagara tomorrow and in Erie on Saturday.

The Battalion enter play this week eighth in the Eastern Conference.

Catch tonight’s game on Country 600 CKAT, the broadcast begins at 6:55 pm.
