Updating two fatal collisions on Highway 17

One person died after a two vehicle crash on Highway 17 in Verner early Wednesday morning.

The collision involved a westbound passenger vehicle and an eastbound tractor trailer, and happened between Beaudry Road and Gingras Avenue.

The road was closed for several hours before being re-opened just before 8am.

A detour was set up during the road closure.

Meantime, An update on a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and passenger vehicle on Highway 17 East of Deux Rivieres last Friday.

The deceased has been identified as a 39 year old Quebec woman, who was a passenger on the motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The collision closed the highway for several hours.
