A couple of signings for the Powassan Voodoos.

They’ve inked defenceman Eric Mondoux from the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers.

The North Bay product scored four goals and 23 assists for 27 points in 36 games with the Trappers last season.

“I‘m really grateful and excited to be part of the Powassan Voodoos organization,” stated Mondoux. “The coaches and the staff are high-end and I’m also able to start my junior career in my hometown.”

The Voodoos also signed 6’2” forward Tyler Gilberds, a fifth round pick of the Ottawa 67’s.

The 6’2″ forward played minor midget last season for Beau Moyer’s Vaughan Kings where he accumulated 12 goals and 20 assists for 32 points in 33 GTHL regular season games.

“Gilberds is a solid two-way forward that will keep the opposition on their toes,” stated Moyer about the 2017 fifth round pick of the Ottawa 67’s.

Powassan also dealt forward Gabriel Rheault to the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners for a development fee on Sunday.

The Voodoos’ training camp starts on Thursday at the Powassan Sportsplex.
