Officials are getting ready for 9th annual Cruisin’ Downtown event tomorrow (Saturday).

Motorcycle and special interest car enthusiasts and their vehicles will be on Main Street from 10 am to 4 pm.

Canada’s foremost automotive journalist Jim Kenzie is back again this year.

There’s no charge for participants and no charge to the public either.

 

A new t-shirt campaign is underway in support of the Nipissing Serenity Hospice fundraiser Bricks4Hospice.

$20 limited-edition t-shirts, created locally are available.

Local high school students have been competing to raise funds since mid-April.

Meantime, there’s a Lego play event tomorrow and Sunday at Northgate Shopping Centre (11 am to 4:30 pm) with donations, in support of the Hospice Children’s Play room, being accepted.

 

The TP North Bay Campaign wraps up tomorrow (Saturday) and officials are still looking for plenty more rolls of toilet paper.

The goal is 20,000 but so far they only have 8,230 rolls.

Officials are hoping to reach 11,000 tomorrow, pointing out the North Bay Food bank gives out that many rolls per year.

They’ll be set up at Parker’s Your Independent Grocer from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm and Giant Tiger from 10 am to 2 pm.

 

Veteran services are benefiting from a giant garage sale at Legion Branch 23 on First Avenue West tomorrow (Saturday) from 10 am to 2 pm.

Officials are calling it their downsizing sale, having moved into a smaller space.

There’s plenty of office, home and restaurant furniture, electronics and entertainment items, pots and pans and dishware and more.

 

The North Bay Farmer’s Market is holding their annual pancake breakfast at tomorrow’s market.

Fresh pancakes will be available for two-dollars with several vendors offering maple-inspired items.

The Farmers Market is open 830 am to 1 pm, rain or shine, each Saturday through Thanksgiving weekend in the parking lot behind the Transit Terminal.

 

Carlson Sports is hosting their 6th annual Ride for the Cause in support of the Heart & Stroke Foundation tomorrow (Saturday).

The cost to enter the ride is $25 per person.

Following the ride, there is a BBQ and silent auction.

Event organizer Dan Carlson and the Carlson family began the event in 2011 in memory of their mother Barbara who died in 2008.

All proceeds go to the Heart & Stroke Foundation to help fund research across Canada.

Registration on event day will open at 9:30 am, with the ride to Verner and back leaving Carlson Sports at 11 am.

 

The Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History goes this weekend in North Bay.

Registration is at 9 am on Sunday with the opening ceremonies at 10 am.  The walk begins at 10:30 am.

Mayor Al McDonald will be on hand to proclaim May 28th as Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Day in the city.

Participants are raising funds for CF research and care.
