Over 700 athletes are in North Bay for the 19th annual Gymtrix Sunshine Classic Gymnastics and Trampoline competition.

The event is underway at the R.J. Surtees Athletic Centre at Nipissing.

There’s also coaches, judges and spectators from Quebec and all parts of Ontario in the city for the event.

According to Competition Directors Nicki Chretien-Mills and Bill Rhoads “Nipissing University has been an amazing partner since we began hosting Sunshine Classic at the Robert Surtees Athletic Centre several years ago. Over the past two decades, Gymtrix Sunshine Classic has built a strong reputation as a top quality Gymnastics Ontario sanctioned event. We are certain that hosting the event at the Nipissing ‘state of the art’ venue also plays a part in our 95% club retention rate. We are very fortunate to have facilities such as these right here in North Bay, not to mention the bonus of having the residence available on site.”
