A milestone year for the Powassan Maple Syrup Festival.

The 20th annual event goes tomorrow (Saturday).

Chair Roger Glabb says they’ve grown over the years, pointing out they started out with a half-block event.

“This year we’re closing the entire Main Street, 135 to 140 vendors, more than ever. We attract anywhere from 10 to 15,000 people for a single day,” he says.

Events include pancake breakfasts, free bus trips to the Matthews Maple Syrup, vendors and displays at the Sportsplex, Lumberjack shows and a new amateur competition, live music, sheep shearing, Scottish heavy events and more.

There’s also off-site parking and a free shuttle bus to take people to the festival.
