Construction values in the City of North Bay are up through the first three months of the year.
The first quarter saw building activity reach $23.9-million dollars, up about 20 percent over last year’s $20-million.
Mayor Al McDonald says building values have continued their upward trend, year over year, since 2014.
“This is an encouraging sign and we are optimistic we will see continued strength in these numbers,” he added.
According to the City’s building statistics report, total construction for the same period in 2015 was $11 million; in 2014, the value of permits was $7.4 million.
The total building values for the year 2016 were $77.9 million and, in the year 2015, the building values were $68.8 million.
