The road map for the future of Cassellholme was unveiled Tuesday at city council.

Chair of the Cassellholme board Councillor Chris Mayne says it includes three things that all include provincial support.

First, he says they must get the right to borrow their own money that right now can’t be done.

He says they also need provincial approval to have two new nursing homes.

They would be the redeveloped Cassellholme and the new nursing home in Mattawa.

He says they also want the province to pay their share of the $60,000,000 redevelopment up front so the municipalities don’t have to finance the debt over a quarter century.

He says Cassellholme would be left with 5 funding municipalities including North Bay down from nine.

He says the four leaving would pay their fair share of the development project and then contribute to the Mattawa home.
