The Northern Ontario Party is holding a series of public meetings, starting in North Bay at the end of the month.

They’ll be answering questions and providing information.

The first session is January 30th at the North Bay Public Library.

Events in early February are being held in Algoma-Manitoulin, Sault Ste Marie and Thunder Bay.

Party leader Trevor Holliday also says not one MPP has put forward a private member bill to reform, redevelop or even have Northern Ontario protected.

At a news event outside a power plant that’s been shuttered in North Bay, he said the closing down of more Northern industries shows the lack of care or concern for the well being of Northerners and the future generations.

Holliday says they’re setting their sights on taking the Northern Ontario Ridings from the hands of parties that are centred in Toronto.
