no gang

A no gang colours/ no gang clothing initiative has been launched in North Bay and Callander by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission, local licensed establishments and police.

Corporate communications coordinator Marie Lugli says the initiative was launched today.

She was asked what they’ll be looking for in bars, restaurants and nightclubs as in applies to gang colours and she says the list could include logos and identifying marks on clothing.

She says participating establishments will have a sign up sayng that no gang colours or gang clothing are permitted and those who don’t exit could be charged under the trespass or property act.

Lugli says they want to ensure people feel safe when entering establishments like bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Chief Shawn Devine says this is a proactive approach to ensure everyone feels safe at bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
